Camp Ability is known for having some amazing activities for our campers! Read below about just a few of the activities our campers get to participate in during the summer.

Bible Studies:  Camp Counselors lead their groups in Bible Studies three times a week.  Crafts, art projects, snack creations, and puppet shows for the week are based on the Bible Study theme.

Art:  From pottery to painting, our arts and crafts are hit with all.  Campers take their projects home for all to see.

Swimming:  Every Tuesday, campers enjoy swimming at MTSU’s indoor swimming pool.  Complete with a twisting, winding, waterslide, campers have a blast every week.

MTSU Football camp:  Coach Stockstill and players came to camp this past summer and held a football camp with our campers.  It was a true joy to see the players helping the kids perform the passing, kicking, and running drills; just like them!

MTSU Basketball camp: Coach Davis and the team have come to camp each summer for the past three years.  It is always so much fun to see the players and kids enjoying a basketball camp together!  Sometimes the cheerleaders join them in the fun as well

MTSU Tennis camp:  MTSU’s Tennis Team hosted Camp Ability the summer of 2009.  The kids and players had so much fun learning and playing tennis!  The day was made complete with an MTSU Tennis Team t-shirt and participation certificate!

Nashville Predators:  “Nash” and members of the Nashville Predators’ organization came to camp in the summer of 2009 for a hockey clinic.  It was so much fun to turn the gym into a hockey rink!  The kids had a great time playing and getting their picture taken with “Nash!”

Limo Ride:  Camp Ability rides in style!  Due to a generous donation from members in the Murfreesboro community, campers have received a free limo ride each summer the last two years.  What a great way to spend the afternoon!

Snack creation:  Fun with food!  The afternoon snack is creatively turned into a scene from our Bible Study.  It’s a great way to learn!

Lowe’s project: Lowe’s Home Improvement Store hosts Camp Ability campers and assist us creating a project for our campers to take home and enjoy!  Some projects in the past include a desk-size basketball goal for the boys and a jewelry box for the girls!  A great experience for all!

Music/dance:  Led by one of our counselors who is studying the art of dance, kids have a great time dancing to their favorite music!

Recreational activities:  Games of kickball, wiffle ball, basketball, and football are frequently enjoyed by all of us here at camp.  Campers also enjoy games with our giant parachute and other creative games led by our excellent and fun-loving counselors!

Archery:  A grant received by the Easton Sports Development Foundation has brought archery to our camp.  Campers learn the skill and enjoy aiming at the target with our bows and arrows.

Chuck E. Cheese:  An afternoon of fun!  Lots of games, rides, and pizza make for a great afternoon at camp!

Water Day:  On a hot summer day, water games are a fabulous way to enjoy fun in the sun!  This past summer, we not only enjoyed a day of relay races and water games, but a great 4thof July picnic!

Putt-Putt:  The shaded greens of Go USA provided a great place to play putt-putt. Because of our amazing counselors and dedicated volunteers, all campers were able to experience the joy of sinking that putt!

Bounce U:  Huge inflatable games made for a great afternoon of bouncing fun!

State Farm Safety Day:  Partnering with State Farm not only made for a great way to increase safety around our homes, but the games they provided also gave us a terrific day of fun!

Bowling:  A great feeling of accomplishment is knocking down all those pins!  We spent a great afternoon at the bowling alley racking up those high scores!

End of summer carnival:  The perfect end to a great summer is definitely a carnival! Lots of games, prizes, and food make for a wonderful afternoon to enjoy with the whole family!!
