Our most frequently asked question. Often Special Kids comes across families that have concerns about their child's development. Should they be able to walk by this age? Or speak in complete sentences? Or feed themselves? The consistent and best answer you will receive from Special Kids is to make an appointment with your child's pediatrician to discuss your concerns.
As a resource and reference to families seeking more information on the topic, Special Kids has compiled a developmental milestone survey adapted from Lynn Marotz and K. Eileen Allen's book Developmental Profiles: Pre-birth through Adolescence.
This survey is simply a tool and not a comprehensive guide. As you begin this survey and again when you complete it, we encourage you to contact your child's pediatrician as the best resource when asking the question if your child is reaching age-appropriate developmental milestones.
